Antenna Gain Required Calculator
Hitting your target audience often times means calculating a level of ERP (Effective Radiated Power) required to satisfy a physical coverage area. Once the ERP level is known and a transmitter of X wattage is specified, the question then becomes: "How much antenna gain do I need to hit that ERP?" The calculator below calculates the antenna gain needed to achieve a desired ERP, given a static or known transmitter wattage.
If you would like to calculate just antenna gain needed without the transmission line and its effects, simply insert a low frequency into the Frequency text box (0.01 MHz) and insert a very short length in the Transmission Line Length text box (0.01 feet).
Frequency:
MHz
